Your Family Will Love This!
MPV purposes since it is the bigger of the two Odyssey types.
The smaller Honda Odyssey, which was only available in Japan, actually gained a bit of popularity in the Tokyo Auto Show sometime in 2003. This did not encourage the manufacturers to sell it in North America though. The bigger North American version of the Honda Odyssey, however, was sold in Japan as the LaGreat from 1999 until 2004.
The first generation of this vehicle, which was manufactured between 1995 till 1998, saw it being assembled in the Japan factory of the company. The Honda Odyssey had swing-open doors that were fats replacing the older styled sliding doors of other MPVs.

The same year it was launched, 1995, saw the Odyssey bagging the title "Car of the Year" from Wheels magazine.
The 1999 model of this vehicle came in a larger size and had its roots reverted back to its minivan background with the return of the rear sliding doors. Its engine also changed from a four cylinder one to a six cylinder one in line with its minivan designation. This second generation Honda Odyssey saw numerous upgrades being installed in and outside of the car all throughout its 1999 to 2004 run.
The changes that the vehicle saw gave it the much needed boost in sales that the company wanted. This did not meant that the Odyssey did not encounter problems during such a popular generation. This generation of Honda Odysseys actually saw numerous transmissions being replaced due to problems with the original ones that were installed in these vehicles. Such problems were remedied with warranty extensions as well as replacements where possible. This problem ran for a few years until the creation of the 2004 model which passed the reliability ratings set by the Automotive Information Systems.
The latest batch of Honda Odyssey vehicles is the third generation of this minivan/MPV. It has a significantly wider body and heavier overall weight but retains the basic interior measurements of its predecessor. Owners of these new family sized vehicles proudly show the people that they own such useful automobiles with the use of Honda Odyssey Keychains, on the very same car keys that turns these cars' engines on.
These new Honda Odyssey cars, which are now being assembled in the Us and in Japan as well, shows that people still know a quality vehicle when they see one. Despite the previous problems that the Odyssey encountered with earlier generations, the trust people have in the Honda Odyssey is back with the new generation.
